"Jujutsu Kaisen" coming as a Crunchyroll exclusive

Crunchyroll today announces that the highly anticipated anime Kaisen Jujutsu will travel to the platform exclusively as part of Crunchyroll's upcoming anime season this October. The series will be available to the anime community around the world, outside of Asia. This dark fantasy / horror series follows the life of teenager Yuji Itadori, who finds himself embroiled in an epic battle between sorcerers and powerful curses, becoming possessed himself!

Synopsis: Discomfort, regret, shame: the negative feelings that humans experience become Curses that lurk in our daily life. Curses are rampant all over the world, capable of leading people to terrible misfortune and even death. Additionally, Curses can only be exorcised by another Curse.

Itadori Yuji is a boy with enormous physical strength, although he lives a completely normal high school life. One day, to save a friend who has been attacked by Curses, he eats the finger of the Double-faced Ghost, carrying the Curse into his own soul. From that point on, he shares a body with the two-faced specter. Led by the most powerful of sorcerers, Gojo Satoru, Itadori is admitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Technical High School of Sorcery, an organization that fights Curses ... and thus begins the heroic story of a boy who became a Curse to exorcise a Curse, a life from which he could never go back.

Powerhouse MAP studio provides the animation, with Sunghoo Park directing the series. MAP and Park recently teamed up on the Crunchyroll Original series The god of high school, so fans will have otherworldly pleasure once the show premieres exclusively on Crunchyroll this fall.

The manga for Kaisen Jujutsu (published by Shueisha in Japan and VIZ Media in the US) was launched in 2018 and, as of June 2020, there are currently more than 6,5 million copies in circulation.
