New trailer, cast and details for Funimation Co-Pro "Sing a Bit of Harmony"
Funimation, the world leader in anime has revealed new details, key art, the latest trailer and other cast members for his upcoming anime co-production, Sing a Bit of Harmony (Sing some harmony). The film, which will be released in Japan on October 29, will soon hit theaters in the United States and Canada.
Voice actors Sayaka Oohara, Kenji Hamada, Kenjiro Tsuda, Kazlaser (Maple Chogoukin) and Miyu Sakihi join previously announced stars including Tao Tsuchiya (DELETED) as Shion, Haruka Fukuhara (Kaguya-sama: Is love war?) as Satomi and Asuka Kudo as Toma. The cast will also include Kazuyuki Okitsu as Gotchan, Mikako Komatsu (Dr. STONE) as Aya and Satoshi Hino (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu from Yaiba) as Thunder.
Sing a Bit of Harmony tells the story of the beautiful and mysterious Shion, who moves to Keibu High School, where she quickly becomes famous for her open-hearted personality and exceptional athletic talent… but it turns out she is an AI being tested! Shion's goal is to bring the "happiness" of the chronic loner Satomi. But his strategy is something no human would expect: he serenades Satomi in the middle of the classroom. After discovering that Shion is an artificial intelligence, Satomi and her childhood friend, engineering genius Toma, constantly get close to the new student. Along with popular and attractive Gotchan, strong-willed Aya and judo club member "Thunder", they are increasingly moved by Shion's voice and earnestness, even as his antics baffle them. But what Shion does for Satomi's sake ends up plunging them all into serious pandemonium… Get ready for the heartwarming story of an AI not yet ready for the market and its classmates!
Sing a Bit of Harmony is written and directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura, who took home the "Excellence Award" to the animation division of the Japan Media Arts Film Festival for his work on Inverted patema: start of the day and the "Best Anime Award" to the OVA division of the Tokyo International Anime Fair for EVE time.
The film crew also includes Ichirou Ohkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Lupine third part 5) as co-writer, Kanna Kii (The stranger by the sea) as the original character designer, with JCSTAFF for animation production and Hidekazu Shimamura (Trigun: Badlands Rumble, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled) as animation director, Ryo Takahashi (SK8 the Infinite) for the musical composer and Yohei Matsui as a songwriter.
