The 31st Nintama Rantaro anime series will premiere in April 2023

The 4th series of the anime franchise premiered on NHK Educational on April 26, kicking off the franchise's XNUMXth anniversary celebrations. The second half of the anime's XNUMXth series premiered on September XNUMX.

Soubee Amako's original Rakudai Ninja Rantarō ninja gag manga centers on Rantarō, a ninja trainee at an elite ninjutsu academy in historic Japan. As elementary students, Rantarō and his ninja friends-in-training are called "Nintama" – a contraction of the words "ninja" and "tamago" ("egg").

The manga inspired the Nintama Rantaro television anime in 1993, and the NHK-E channel still airs the 10-minute anime every weekday. The manga has also inspired two anime films and two live-action films. Takashi Miike directed the first live-action film.
