The Legend of Vox Machina is an adult fantasy animated series produced by Metapigeon, Titmouse, Inc. and Amazon Studios, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 28, 2022. The first two episodes of the series depict “a new story about the seven-member Vox Machina team at level 7 of D&D in their first “adult” mission, which occurs in the first game episode of Critical role“. Nexus Studios leveraged real-time technology to open an exciting new chapter in the live animation space. Nexus Studios' real-time process allowed Willingham and Riegel to create articulated puppets with hand movements and facial expressions on their animated characters, Grog and Scanlan.

Developed by the Real-Time division of Nexus Studios and led by Academy Award winner Patrick Osborne, the team has taken motion capture beyond its typical capabilities by developing a system to stylize the actors' movements in real time, which best suits the appeal of the content. animated by hand.
