The Peanuts celebrate Snoopy's birthday with the new short film "Take Care with Peanuts"

Smack dab in Dog Days of Summer, it's Snoopy's birthday (August 10)! The Peanuts gang is toasting their beagle friend with a new animated short that demonstrates proper pet care for a VIP (Very Important Pooch). As part of the "Beware of Peanuts" initiative, Friends, big and small shows that "taking care of each other" includes your pets.

Available in 11 languages, the new short encourages the loving care of the family's furry friends, as demonstrated by Charlie Brown and Snoopy in their inimitable ways. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown's little sister Sally discovers the responsibilities - and the rewards - of caring for a pet.

In addition to cartoons Friends, big and small , Peanuts is providing human caregivers with a birthday cake recipe suitable for people and dogs, so that everyone can join in the celebration. Other family-friendly activities available for download include simple instructions for making homemade dog toys with supplies readily available at home; black cut-out sunglasses perfect for creating your own “Joe Cool” look; and multiple tips to help animals in your community.

“Take Care with Peanuts” is an international initiative that promotes good global citizenship through three themes: Take care of yourself. Take care of each other. Take care of the Earth.
