Baobab Studios presents its first look at "Baba Yaga" for Annecy 2020
Multiple Emmy Award Winner Baobab Studios will reveal for the first time his new immersive experience, Baba Yaga, with a special presentation of "Work in progress" in Annecy International Animation FestivalOnline edition 2020. The presentation will debut on Monday 15 June and will be available to accredited festival viewers during the two-week event.
The Baobab WIP session at Annecy Online will present the co-founder / CEO Maureen fan, co-founder / CCO Eric Darnell and co-founder / CTO Larry Cutleras well as many other key members of the Baobab team such as Head of Content Kane Lee, Co-director Mathias Chelebourg, Animation supervisor Ken Fountain and set designer Glenn Hernandez. The presentation will reflect many of the studio's award-winning past films Asteroids!, Invasion! e Bonfire for Raven: the legendand discuss the studio's philosophy and unique approach to interactive cinematography by offering a special preview of Baba Yaga.
Directed by Darnell, whose pre-Baobab credits include Madagascar film franchise and co-directed by Mathias Chelebourg, Baba Yaga is a contemporary depiction of the Eastern European legend shown in illustrative 2D pop-up animation and hand-drawn stop motion, creating a modern visual language for virtual reality inspired by classic animation. Leveraging award-winning studio animation pioneers and interactive game veterans, Baba Yaga It combines theater, film and animation in a unique experience that explores the issues of empowerment and environmentalism.

In addition, the Baobab Studios team will participate in a live question and answer session organized by the Annecy festival on June 23 at 9:00 am PST / 18:00 pm Time of France. The panelists present will include several key creatives of Baba Yaga production including Darnell, Chelebourg, fountain maker and development Shannon Ryan.
Baba Yaga will be released in multiple formats later this year.
