Beyblade is a popular Japanese manga written by Takao Aoki and published in CoroCoro Comic magazine between September 1999 and July 2004. The manga later gave rise to an anime television series, which was first broadcast in Japan in 2001. The series it had two sequels, Beyblade V-Force and Beyblade G-Revolution, and produced 154 episodes overall.

The plot of Beyblade centers on a game in which spinning tops, called beyblades, are used. Players, called bladers, use launchers to launch their spinning tops into a stadium and cause them to collide. The series follows the adventures of Takao and his team, the Bladebreakers, as they travel the world to participate in beyblade tournaments and defeat increasingly stronger opponents.

The manga and anime television series were highly successful in Japan and also abroad, including Italy, where the series was first broadcast in 2003. The series also spawned a sequel, titled Bakuten Shoot Beyblade : Rising, released between 2016 and 2021.
