Video Game Leaderboards: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe flies to second place as Nintendo takes half of the top ten

UK physical rankings data is now available for the week ending 7th August, revealing that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is once again at the forefront for Nintendo.

Despite being over four years old, the game was the second best-selling physical release in the UK last week. Only F1 2021 managed to overtake him, which secured first place for the third consecutive week.

Five Switch exclusives can be found in this week's top ten, with others such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Golf: Super Rush (those two are in 11th and 12th place respectively). Spiritfarer is the only one among the top 40 newcomers; its new physical version earned it 35th place with the Switch version far exceeding the sales of its PS4 counterpart.
