Crunchyroll unveils new trailer, images for "Jujutsu Kaisen 0"

Crunchyroll has unveiled a new trailer and additional images for the upcoming theatrical release on March 18 of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Toho Animation's dark fantasy film, animated by MAPPA and directed by Sunghoo Park, will be available in both English dub and subtitled and will arrive in more than 1.500 theaters nationwide. The film will also be released in select IMAX theaters based in the United States.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is about Yuta Okkotsu, a nervous high school student, who enters the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School under the guidance of Satoru Gojo after being haunted by her childhood friend's curse. The film is based on the JUMP COMICS / Shueisha prequel manga from Gege Akutami's highly successful supernatural adventure series.

Plot: When they were children, Rika Orimoto was killed in a car accident right in front of her close friend, Yuta Okkotsu.

"It's a promise. When we are both grown up, we will get married ”.

Rika became an apparition and Yuta longed for his own death after suffering under his curse, but the greatest sorcerer of Jujutsu, Satoru Gojo, welcomed him to Jujutsu High. There, Yuta meets her classmates, Maki Zen'in, Toge Inumaki and Panda, and finally finds her own resolve.

"I want the security of saying that it's okay that I'm alive!"

"While I'm at Jujutsu High, I'll break Rika-chan's curse."

Meanwhile, the vile user of the curse, Suguru Geto, who was expelled from school for slaughtering ordinary people, appears before Yuta and the others.

“Next December 24th we will carry out the night parade of the hundred demons”.

While Geto advocates the creation of a paradise only for jujutsu sorcerers, he casts a thousand curses on Shinjuku and Kyoto to exterminate all non-sorcerers.

Will Yuta be able to stop Geto in the end? And what will happen to break Rika's curse…?

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime series is based on the best-selling manga of the same name, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump and has sold over 60 million copies in Japan. In the United States, the series is published by VIZ Media. The anime series was named Anime of the Year by the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2021. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have the entire series on their platforms, both subtitled and dubbed, for fans to catch up on before seeing the experience in theaters.
