Daisy Ridley, Stephen Fry in the cast of Da Vinci Pic "The Inventor"
Daisy Ridley, who plays King in the recent Skywalker saga Star Wars film and icon of the British stage, screen and writer Stephen Fry have registered to play roles The inventor - A mixed media animated film about Leonardo da Vinci, written / directed / produced by Disney / Pixar veteran Jim Capobianco. Ridley will voice the French princess Marguerite and Fry will play the last man of the Renaissance.
The inventor It was one of the animated projects presented on Cartoon Movie this spring, and is slated to enter the Cannes film market next week.
Synopsis: In 1516, instead of painting "nice" pictures for the Pope, the insatiably curious Leonardo da Vinci was looking for the meaning of life itself. This deadly heresy forces Leo to flee Italy with his apprentices and to arrive at the court of Francis I, where he proposes to create the "Ideal City". A city designed to help people, not to control them. However, Leonardo discovers that his radical new ideas do not satisfy the Mother of the King nor do his efforts serve the king's ambitions for power. Only in the enterprising princess, Marguerite, does Leonardo see hope for the future. It is with your help that you find the answer to the last question: "What is the meaning of all this?"
Capobianco's credits include The Lion King, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Inside Out, Finding Dory e Il ritorno di Mary Poppins. He received an Oscar nomination for writing Ratatouille.
