Disney Channel summons S3 of 'The Owl House' ahead of S2's premiere in June

Disney Channel has ordered a third season of the Peabody Award-nominated animated series The house of the owl, ahead of the Season 12 premiere on Saturday June 10 (00am EDT / PDT)

Season 3 will feature three 44-minute specials. The new episodes of the fantasy comedy series debut every Saturday through August 14 on the Disney Channel and will also be available on DisneyNOW on the same day.

Created and produced by Dana Terrace (director, Tales of goslings), S2 picks up immediately after confronting Emperor Belos and finds our heroes working together to bring Luz back to the Human Kingdom, help Eda deal with her inner demons, and seek the truth about King's past. Additionally, a new opening title sequence for the season was revealed today.

"Dana and her team have created a series that continues to push boundaries with epic and diverse storylines, a stunning world and multifaceted characters that have captivated our audience," said Meredith Roberts, SVP / General Manager, Television Animation, Disney Channels. "We can't wait to show more adventures in seasons two and three."

The voice cast of the second season includes Peter Gallagher (The OC), Felicia Day (The guild), Harvey Guillen (What we do in the shadows TV series), Nik Dodani (Atypical), Alex Lawther (The end of the fucking world) and Debra Wilson (MADtv).

The house of the owl follows Luz, a self-confident teenager who stumbles upon a portal to a magical kingdom where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and a little warrior, King. Despite having no magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda's apprentice at the Owl House and eventually finds a new family in an unlikely environment.

The protagonist of the series is Sarah-Nicole Robles (Star Darlings) as Luz, Wendie Malick (Just shoot me) in the role of Eda, Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) as King and Hooty, Matthew Rhys (The Americans) as Emperor Belos, Issac Ryan Brown (Raven's Home) as Gus, Tati Gabrielle (The terrifying adventures of Sabrina) as Willow, Mae Whitman (Good girls) as Amity and Cissy Jones (Great little great) like Lilith.

In 4Q20, The house of the owl was one of the top five animated series on cable featuring boys and girls ages 6 to 11, and the series has amassed over 58 million views on Disney Channel YouTube since its January 2020 launch.

The house of the owl pop clothing and outlets are currently available at Amazon.com/DisneyChannel, including an exclusive t-shirt designed by art director Ricky Cometa (Steven Universe). Two children's books inspired by the series, The Owl House: witches before wizards e The Owl House: Hexcellent Tales from The Boiling Isles, were released earlier this year by Disney Publishing Group and are available at www.DisneyBooks.com.

In addition to Terrace and Cometa, Stephen Sandoval (Gravity Falls) and Wade Wisinski (Be strong, Scooby-Doo!) serve as producer and supervisor producer respectively. The house of the owl is a Disney Television Animation production and follows the TV-Y7 FV parenting guidelines.
