Disney + Hotstar acquires the animated series "Dabangg"

India's largest premium streaming platform, Disney + Hotstar, has acquired the rights to the animated series Dabangg with 104 episodes, produced by Cosmos-Maya and Arbaaz Khan Productions. The one-of-a-kind animated series is based on the popular and self-titled Bollywood film. The first season, consisting of 52 episodes lasting 30 minutes each, will debut in the summer of 2021. The premium platform boasts 400 million viewers, eight million paying subscribers and features an additional library of Disney + content that makes it the most prolific in India, both in terms of subscribers and content.

The story of Dabangg

The series chronicles the daily life of police officer Chulbul Pandey (played by Salman Khan in the films), as he faces crime to keep the city safe. Fighting evil is hard work, but whatever the situation, Chulbul always has time to play down the situation with his jokes, his ironic lines. He is joined by younger brother Makkhi (played by Arbaaz Khan in the movies) who, new to the police force, continues to try to emulate his older brother.

The animated series will feature all of the animated characters from the film, including the three antagonists Chhedi Singh, Bachcha Bhaiya and Baali, Rajjo (played by Sonakshi Sinha in the films), Prajapati Ji (played by the late Vinod Khanna in the films) and the boy “BhaiyaJi Ismile ".
