Exclusive: Viva Kids chases US rights to "Cow on the run"


Viva Kids acquired the US distribution rights for the animated film Cow on the run; Viva president Victor Elizalde negotiated the deal with Alexandra Cruz of Copenhagen Bombay Sales during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2021. Viva Kids also has US rights to Monkey star, which will premiere this week in Annecy.

Cow on the run tells the story of a cow named Yvonne who escapes capture and embarks on an adventure to find her freedom and her beloved son. The film is based on a true story that attracted international media attention in 2011.

The animated family adventure is produced by Sarita Christensen, CEO and founder of the Copenhagen Bombay Group; German producers Dorothe Beinemeier of Red Balloon Film GmbH and Torsten Poeck of TheManipulators GmbH. The film was written by writing duo Jess Kedward and Kirsty Peart (Via Dalmatia 101), and will be directed by Kristjan Møller (animation director, Spy next door, looking for Santa).
