Featurette: Voice Stars Cluck on Disney Junior's "Chicken Squad"

Disney Junior's Poultry Animated Comedy Adventure The Chicken Squad is ready for its cock-a-doodle debut this Friday May 14th at 19:30 pm. EDT / PDT. As previously revealed, the new series based on Doreen Cronin's famous picture books will hatch with two consecutive episodes, introducing young Coop stars Sweetie and Little Boo to families. Together with their canine mentor, Captain Tully, the chicks set out on problem-solving adventures in their backyard to help their animal friends.

Prior to the eggciting event, Disney Junior shared a new featurette with animag, with vocal cast members Yvette Nicole Brown (Captain Tully), Melissa Rauch (mom Dinah), Golden Globe winner Jane Lynch (Dr. Dirt), Tony Hale (Frazz), and executive producer Tom Rogers talking about the delicious courtyard characters of the show.

“Captain Tully is a retired search and rescue dog. It just helps them learn the basics to make sure they're ready for that episode's new adventure… It means a lot to me to voice Captain Tully because she's a strong female mentor. "
- Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Elena of Avalor)

"Dinah is the loving mother of the Chicken Squad, and I love how much she loves her chicks!"
- Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory, Batman and Harley Quinn)

"Dr. Dirt is a scientist. Her loves teaching the chicks all about science and how science can be so useful and opens up a whole new world for them. "
- Jane Lynch (Glee, Wreck-It Ralph)

The vocal cast also includes protagonists Ramone Hamilton (Coop), Gabriella Graves (Sweetie) and Maxwell Simkins (Little Boo); recurring guests Sean Giambrone, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Melissa Villaseño and Zack Pearlman; and S1 guest voices Rachel Bloom and Chrissie Fit.

The Chicken Squad was developed and is produced by Emmy Award winner Tom Rogers (Elena of Avalor). Rachel Ruderman (Sofia the first) is co-producer and story editor; Tony Trujillo (FarmVille 2) is artistic director; and Elliot M. Bour, Emmy Award nominee (Elena of Avalor) and Scott Bern (Dog puppy friends) are supervising administrators. The series is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior.
