Shout! Factory, a cross-platform media company, and Anime Limited, the esteemed UK animation distributor, have announced a new North American entertainment distribution partnership for the highly sought after anime series. bartender (Bartender).

The announcement was made today by Melissa Boag, Senior Vice President of Family Entertainment at Shout! Factory and Andrew Partridge, founder and CEO of Anime Limited.

The story of Bartender takes place in a lonely bar tucked away in the back streets of Tokyo's Ginza district called Eden Hall. Here it is said that the prodigy mixologist Ryuu Sasakura, creates the most incredible cocktails in the world. However, not everyone can enter Eden Hall for a drink - Eden Hall has to find you. As patrons of all different backgrounds make their way into the bar to vent their particular problems, Ryuu also knows the right cocktail recipe to console and guide them.

This fascinating anthology series, filled with captivating stories and insights into life and with delightful looking anime graphics, was directed by Masaki Watanabe (Battle Spirits, Bakumatsu, KADO - The right answer), written by Yasuhiro Imagawa (Giant Robo the Animation) and produced by Palm Studios. Based on Araki Joh's best-selling Japanese manga series and illustrated by Kenji Nagatomo, Bartender was adapted into an anime series in 2006 and a live-action Japanese television drama in 2011.

The multi-year distribution alliance provides Shout! Factory in addition to the distribution rights on Bartender, also digital, video-on-demand, broadcast and home entertainment for cross-platform versions in the United States and Canada. Shout! Factory, in partnership with Anime Limited, plans to bring this coveted anime series to the entertainment market in early 2021, with a fixed release plan for a special 15th anniversary collectible multi-disc Blu-ray set and digital streaming on major entertainment platforms.
