At SIGGRAPH Asia 2020 Virtual, ihe most important Asian animation festival, will be held a  conference, which will showcase the best of this year's works, presented by the authors, who will share their works and discuss their most innovative projects and experiences, with computer generated animations and special effects. The Computer animation festival (CAF) will take place at Virtual SIGGRAPH of Asia from 4th to 13th December, with a series of entertaining screenings, presentations and round tables celebrating the work of students, young professionals, experienced professionals and veterans of animation.

Consisting of a brand new screening of CAF winners, along with the venerable Electronic Theater and Animation Theater program, CAF will take the visitor on a breadth tour of this year's most innovative and inspiring work in computer animation.

  • Of the 577 works presented, 22 were selected for Animation Theaterr, which will be accessible for viewing from 4 to 13 December on the virtual events platform.
  • The 25 best projects "not to be missed", selected by the jury of 11 members of the CAF will be selected in the Electronic Theater scheduled from 10 to 13 December, on a separate platform, full of events, and this year too it will be a visual pleasure not to be missed.

Behind the scenes of the Pixar film Wind - From Pixar Animation Studios, with writer and director Edwin Chang, manufacturer Jesus Martinez and supervisor of the technical director Beth Albright will discuss the making of their CG animated short, Wind (Wind). Made as part of Pixar's SparkShorts program, Wind (Wind) is set in a world of magical realism, where a grandmother and her grandson are trapped deep in an endless abyss, collecting debris surrounding them to fulfill their dream of escaping to a better life. The screening of the film will be followed by a “behind the scenes” presentation and a question and answer session.

To produce Over the Moon - Manufacturers Peilin Chou (Animated film producer, Pearl Studio) e Gennie Rim (Executive Producer, Glen Keane Productions) will discuss the development and production of the recently presented Netflix animated musical adventure, Over the Moon, directed by SIGGRAPH Asia's keynote speaker and legendary Oscar winner Glen Keaneand co-directed by Academy Award winner John Kahrs. In the film, Fei Fei, a bright young girl fueled by determination and a passion for science, builds a rocket to the moon to prove the existence of the legendary Chinese moon goddess, Chang'e. After an impossible journey, he ends up in an extravagant land of fantastic creatures. Directed by Keane, animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks and produced by Rim and Chou for Shanghai-based Pearl Studio, Beyond the Moon is a musical adventure about how to move forward, embrace the unexpected and believe that the impossible is possible.
