The trailer for “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” tells the nine lives of the Leche Whisperer

Based on yesterday's first look and cast reveal, Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish from DreamWorks Animation. The first feature film in the Shrek universe following the hairy hero's solo spin-off in 2011, The Last Wish appears to be a carryover of the classic DWA style that blends with the graphic and snappy animation aesthetics of today's CGI blockbusters.

Brought to the screen by the team behind The Croods: A New Age, director Joel Crawford and producer Mark Swift, the new venture of the fearless feline outlaw begins when Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for danger and contempt for safety have taken their toll. The cat has burned eight of his nine lives, even though he has lost count along the way. Recovering those lives will send Puss in Boots on his greatest mission ever.

Antonio Banderas returns as the voice of the infamous PiB as he embarks on an epic journey into the Black Forest to find the mythical Wish Star and restore his lost lives. But with only one life left, the cat will have to humble himself and seek help from his former partner and nemesis: the charming Kitty Soft Paws (Salma Hayek). Aided - against their best judgment - by a chatty, talkative and relentlessly cheerful bastard, Perro (Harvey Guillén), our heroes must stay one step ahead of Goldilocks (Florence Pugh) and the three bear crime family, the “Big” Jack Horner (John Mulaney) and the terrifying bounty hunter, The Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura).

The voice cast also includes Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone, Samson Kayo, Anthony Mendez and Da'Vine Joy Randolph. Chris Meledandri is the executive producer.
