Netflix reveals full cast of "Wendell & Wild"

Netflix has announced the cast of its next stop-motion animated film Wendell & Wild, Oscar nominee Henry Selick's (Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas) return to the director's chair. The news was shared with a punk-inspired video released today. The film is expected to debut globally in the fall of 2022.

In addition to Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) and Oscar winner Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) as owners Wild and Wendell, the otherworldly story will also feature Lyric Ross (This Is Us). as Wild and Wendell. Kat; Angela Bassett (Black Panther) as Sister Helley; James Hong (Kung Fu Panda) as Father Bests; Sam Zelaya as Raul; Seema Virdi, Tamara Smart (A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever) as Sloane, Siobhan and Sweetie; and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction) as the demon Buffalo Belzer.

Natalie Martinez (The Twilight Zone), Tantoo Cardinal (Dances With Wolves), Gabrielle Dennis, Igal Naor, David Harewood, Maxine Peake and Gary Gatewood round out the devilishly delightful cast.

From the delightfully evil minds of Henry Selick and Jordan Peele comes Wendell & Wild, an animated story about the intriguing demon brothers Wendell and Wild, who enlist the help of XNUMX-year-old Kat Elliot, a tough teenager with a load of guilt - to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat asks in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comical adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the artisan art of stop motion.

The film marks Selick's first return to the helm since he wrote, directed and produced Coraline (LAIKA, 2009). The famous stop-motion master wrote Wendell & Wild with Peele; the duo is also a producer alongside Ellen Goldsmith Vein for The Gotham Group and Win Rosenfield for Peele's Monkeypaw.

Executive producers are Lindsay Williams and Eddie Gamarra for The Gotham Group, Ian Cooper for Monkeypaw and Kamil Oshundara. The film's key creative team also includes Oscar-nominated composer Bruno Coulais (Les Choristes, Wolfwalkers, White Fang).
