Precious Pupp – the animated series by Hanna and Barbera

Precious Pupp is a 1965 American animated television series created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, known for bringing numerous iconic animation characters to life. The series is part of “The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show” and was first broadcast in the United States on NBC from October 2, 1965 to September 7, 1967, for a total of 20 episodes divided into two seasons. In Italy, it was broadcast on local television starting from 5 April 1981.

The protagonist of the series is Precious Pupp, an apparently sweet and sly dog, who is part of the following of an elderly motorcyclist. However, the dog is actually very mischievous and when her owner is not present, she enjoys playing tricks on the neighborhood, always managing to get away with it. Despite having no verbal dialogue, Precious Pupp expresses herself through a particular laugh, which later became characteristic of the character of Muttley.
