The life-size statue of Gundam rises above Shanghai
Sunrise announced on Saturday that “The life-size statue of Gundam “Is expanding overseas with a full-size Freedom Gun dam statue in Shanghai next year. Sunrise and its partners made the announcement during the Gun live streamdam G Meeting 2020 event for the gundam China Project. The protagonist Kira Yamato pilots the 18,03 meters high (about 59 feet high) ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gunmobile suit of the dam in the middle of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed anime series.
Sunrise is planning to unveil a life-size mobile RX-78-2 pistol 18 meters high (59 feet high) dam statue from the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime in Yokohama, but delayed the presentation at the end of the year due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
A previous life-size pistol RX-78-2dam statue debuted in Japan in July 2009. That statue was replaced in September 2017 with a full-size RX-0 Unicorn pistoldam statue from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn souls. The Unicorn Gunthe dam statue can light and move various panels to "transform" between Unicorn mode and Destroy mode.
