Apple in talks for Skydance's 'Luck' and 'Spellbound'

Insiders say Apple is looking to leverage the successful acquisition of animated features wolfwalkers ripping the first two films from Skydance Animation, Variety relationships. Enchanted, set in a magical world in which a young girl must break the spell that divided her kingdom in two, reunites director Vicky Jenson (Shrek, Shark Tale) with her Shrek producer David Lipman. Musical Fantasy is written by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin (Mulan) and Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the beast, the lion king), with legendary composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater working on the songs under the guidance of Grammy-winning executive music producer Chris Montan (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen.

Led by animation veterans John Lasseter and Holly Edwards, Skydance Animation offers full production capabilities across two continents, with over 350 creatives based in Los Angeles and Madrid. The study list also includes Pookoo (working title), an original feature film written and directed by Nathan Greno (tangled), and upcoming high-end television series announced in various stages of development.
