Creative Studio PlusOne celebrates 10 years with animation & # 39; Poster '

Over the course of a decade, PlusOne has developed its distinctive character and vision with an independent design and creative studio focused on motion graphics. The Amsterdam-based studio is celebrating its XNUMXth anniversary this year with a jaw-dropping one-minute poster: a mesmerizing wash of whimsical cartoons that blend seamlessly into a witty and whimsical ensemble.

The anniversary is a milestone that marks 10 years of hard work, creative highlights and great memories. It is the perfect time to put the company's core values and aspirations on paper. Over the years, PlusOne has continued to defend traditional techniques throughout its work. This helps create an instantly recognizable signature that can also be seen in the Manifesto.

"From the beginning, we have tried to create work that is inspiring, exceptional and true to our values. The images never seen before speak to the viewer aesthetically, emotionally and intellectually," the studio explained.

“As with all projects, we do a lot of research for the Manifesto, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources. Like Rembrandt's "Trustees of the Draperists Guild", in which the figures look up from their work, as if disturbed by the spectator's arrival. We used this artistic device at the beginning of the film to immediately draw the viewer: a sleeping crash test doll appears to wake up and look directly at the viewer. The doll has no facial features, however the hint power of the animation tells you they are looking at you in surprise.

“The Internet is also an inspiration for us. For example, for a scene, we have seen and analyzed infinitely in granular detail in slow motion pictures of popcorn. In fact, each scene has its little background quite well. Some will notice that the two-legged elephants on the march are a tribute to the legendary scene of the elephant parade in the Disney classic, Dumbo, which has left a lasting impression on some of us.

“It was a really nice collaborative process. The script was written collectively, with everyone who had ideas for the scenes and only the strongest survived until the final cut.

“Once we had a first draft of the animation, we asked our friends at Six Feet High to join the sound department. As always, the guys took it to the next level, which in turn inspired designers and animators. We are confident that the final piece, including the custom sound, will resonate with the unpolished, handcrafted human feel we seek. "
