The protagonists
Lloyd, the legendary green ninja, returns, discovering and training new heroes: Arin, a young ninja enthusiast, and Sora, a technopath from the totalitarian kingdom of Imperium. The story unfolds between the search for the missing heroes, the fight against the evil forces of the Imperium and the attempt to save the dragons, powerful and mysterious beings, now threatened.
Middle, a civilian who idolized the Ninja in his youth. He lost his parents after the Merge and somehow managed to teach himself Spinjitzu, a skill thought to be impossible.
Sora, formerly known as Ana, a technopathic engineer from the Imperium who gained recognition for creating a bright-light hologram projection device called the Photac. She defected from the Imperium when she discovered how cruelly they treated dragons, leading her parents and classmates to shun her. After the merge, she befriended Arin and lived in Crossroads, becoming a mech pilot. She discovers that she has technopathy which is enhanced in Riyu's presence.
Lloyd Garmadon , the legendary Green Ninja and chosen guardian of Ninjago, and son of Misako and the former supervillain Garmadon. He possesses elemental energy and remains in Ninjago City to prevent Mergequakes and train Arin and Sora.
Riyu, a baby dragon said to have great power and, like its relatives, is capable of increasing the powers of an individual in close proximity.
Ras, a black and purple tiger warrior who served in the army of the Imperium, aiding the Talons in capturing the Source Dragons until he was stripped of his position. He is physically strong and wields a hammer.
Beatrix, the power-hungry Empress of the Imperium who orders the capture of as many Source Dragons as possible in an attempt to colonize the Merged Realms.
Kai , Nya's brother and the fiery Fire Master who Lloyd assigns to survey the Unified Kingdoms for the rest of their teammates.
new , Kai's sister and the Master of Water who lived with the Craglings of the Realm of Madness after the Merge, helping them prevent the Dragons from stealing the life energy of the Cragling species.
Zane , the Ice Ninja who was kept on hold for years after The Merge.
Wyldfyre, a ferocious pyrokinetic human raised with a Heatwave dragon and an Imperium robot. After Heatwave was captured by the Talons, he tried to save him.
Rapton, the field leader of the Talons of the Imperium who traps many dragons.
Master Wu , the mentor of the Ninja who has lived for thousands of years. He disappears following the Merge, but his teachings live on in Lloyd.
Cole , the Earth ninja, who ended up in the Land of Lost Things to help those who ran away from home.
Jay , the Lightning ninja, who ended up becoming the manager of the administration. He doesn't remember who he was and his travels with the other ninja.
The plot
After the merger, our world was turned upside down. The well-known ninja heroes have disappeared, and a young Arin finds himself navigating the new reality. Together with Sora, the two encounter several adventures, including an unexpected encounter with Lloyd. The fight against the Imperium intensifies, with secrets revealed, new allies discovered, and the challenge of protecting the dragons and their power.
Over the course of the story, Sora's true identity and connection to the Imperium are revealed, along with the emergence of new characters and allies. The fight reaches its climax when Empress Beatrix decides to take matters into her own hands, promising even greater challenges for our heroes.
