One week left: the book "Art of Change" in support of black lives

Six days to go until the launch of the Kickstarter campaign Art of change, a book project by talented animation and recruiting executives Dawn Yamazi and Deb Stone, bringing together like-minded artists who work in animation, illustration, games and fine arts to "tell the story. of Black's life through art ". The campaign is seeking $ 50.000 to release 500 copies and hopes to reach a milestone that will fund direct compensation for contributing artists.

Yamazi and Stone were already working on a collaborative book concept earlier this year as a way to explain the pandemic and the state of the world to children. When the video of police officers choking to death George Floyd rocked the world on May 25, the creators and artists on board decided to shift the book's focus to support black lives.

To create the book, collaborators came up with 15 words that reflected the past, present and future: words like "injustice" and "brutality", but also "change", "heroes" and "hope". Each artist received a randomly selected word and worked with the group to develop their own concepts.

The 75 collaborators of Art of Change: Black Lives include animation artists Rod Douglas, Jerry J. Gaylord, PengPeng, Aaron Spurgeon, Bryan Turner, Leo Matsuda, Aliki Theofilopoulos, Brad Ableson, John Musker, and others.
