“Miraculous” seasons 6 and 7 and 3 specials coming to Disney TV worldwide

Disney Branded Television today announced the acquisition of Seasons 6 and 7 of the acclaimed animated series “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir,” as well as three original animated specials. This news comes directly from Jeremy Zag, founder and CEO of ZAG, and Julien Borde, President of Mediawan Kids & Family, confirming that the new episodes and specials will be available on Disney channels worldwide, and will then arrive on Disney+ globally (for except for some territories), with a rollout expected until 2024.

“Miraculous” continues to enchant with its story of personal growth, highlighting the importance of self-confidence and the understanding that you don't have to be a superhero to achieve your dreams and overcome your fears. Jeremy Zag expressed great enthusiasm in continuing to collaborate with Disney Branded Television to create world-class content for Miraculous fans around the world.

The new seasons, each consisting of 26 22-minute episodes, and original specials are produced in collaboration with Disney Branded Television, Brazil's Globosat, Italy's KidsMe and France's TF1. The new features also include a 3D CGI visual update made with Unreal Engine.

The series follows the adventures of Marinette and Adrien, two seemingly typical teenagers who magically transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to save their city, Paris, from unexpected villains.

Julien Borde underlined the excitement in continuing the extraordinary adventure of the two most popular superheroes among children, together with ZAG and long-time partner Disney Branded Television. The Miraculous universe continues to expand, capturing an increasingly larger and more demanding fan base. The new adventures promise to meet fans' expectations, surprising them and inspiring their dreams.

Currently in production for a fall 2024 launch, Miraculous S6 features superheroes facing a new and capable enemy. Meanwhile, their alter egos Marinette and Adrien have never been closer, but they continue to hide secrets. Set in a renovated and eco-friendly Paris, our heroes are preparing to experience a school year full of emotions and revelations.

Already available on Disney Channel and Disney+ in the United States, the first 44-minute special, “Miraculous World: Paris, Tales of Shadybug & Claw Noir,” shows Ladybug and Cat Noir discovering a parallel world where the holders of Ladybug's miraculous and the Black Cat are evil, while the holder of the Butterfly miracle is a hero! The second of the three specials (title TBD) is currently in pre-production.

With a large fan base of young adult “Miraculers” (ages 15-25), Miraculous has become a global digital phenomenon with over 37 billion views on YouTube. The animated film hit “Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie” launched theatrically in Europe in the summer of 2023, dominating the box office in France and Germany; and launched on Netflix on July 28, 2023.

The announcement of these new seasons and specials reinforces the positioning of "Miraculous - The stories of Ladybug and Cat Noir" as one of the most successful animated series on the international scene. The series not only captured the imagination of younger people, but also managed to create a strong bond with an audience of young adults, demonstrating its ability to cross different age groups and interests.

Disney, with its vast platform and reputation in family entertainment, appears to be the ideal partner to bring these new adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir to an even wider audience. As the Miraculous universe continues to develop and expand, fans can expect even more excitement, adventure and, of course, the magic that has made the series a global phenomenon.
