The animated series "Lloyd of the Flies" by Aardman
Aardman has released the trailer and key art for its brand new family comedy series Lloyd of the Flies , which will debut today, Tuesday 20 September, on CITV.
The 52 x 11′ series follows the adventures of Lloyd B. Fly, a housefly who lives with his family – including 224 worm brothers – inside a compost bin they call home. As the middle child of 451, Lloyd is a young fly with a lot to prove. With his best friend Abacus Woodlouse, his little sister PB and the eccentric Cornea Butterfly by his side, Lloyd is set for a misadventure in an entomology family comedy.
The series draws inspiration from the weird, wonderful and bizarre world of insects and sheds light on what they do when we're not paying attention.
Next to Tom Rosenthal ( Friday Night Dinner ), Alex lawther ( The End of the F***ing World, Black Mirror ) to Lauren Patel ( Everybody's Talking About Jamie ), the cast includes Callum Scott Howells ( It's A Sin ) as Lloyd's nemesis Berry and the star by Derry Girls Jamie-Lee O'Donnell , who plays Yard, the bumblebee who is a regular at the local Pancake Diner.
Lloyd of the Flies is created and directed by Matthew Walker. He is joined by co-director and voice actor Jane Davies. The series covers the key themes of family and friendship with comedy and misadventure around every corner.
Lloyd of the Flies is Aardman's first 'in-house' CGI series to be produced entirely from its creative center at its Bristol headquarters. The production was supported by the Young Audiences Content Fund (YACF) managed by the BFI. The fund supports the creation of distinctive and quality content for young audiences and is intended to provide content that informs our understanding of the world, stimulates knowledge and learning, as well as represents diversity and alternative viewpoints.
