The new featurette dives into the powerful friendships of "Luca"

This summer, Disney + subscribers will be able to travel to the beautiful city of Portorosso on the Italian Riviera Luca, Pixar's new original animated film, premiered on June 18.

To celebrate National Streaming Day, the platform released a fun new featurette showing how a friend can change your life forever, a key theme of the film. Director Enrico casarosa and members of the vocal cast including Jacob Tremblay (Luca Paguro) Jack DylanGrazer (Alberto Scorfano) Emma Berman (Julia Marcovaldo), Maya Rudolph (Luca's mother, Daniela) e Jim Gaffigan (Luca's father Lorenzo) shares thoughts on the film and stories about his childhood friends.

Luca is the coming-of-age story of a little boy who lives an unforgettable summer full of ice cream, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his new best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply hidden secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the surface of the water.

The vocal cast also includes Saverio Raimondo as the city bully Ercole Visconti, Marco Barricelli as Giulia Massimo's father, Sandy Martin as Luca's grandmother and Giacomo Gianniotti as a local fisherman. Pixar Animation Studios' 24th feature film is directed by Oscar nominee Enrico Casarosa (The Moon) and produced by Andrea Warren (Lava, Cars 3). Award-winning composer Dan Romer (Beasts of the wild South, Maniac) created the score.
