The fate of the universe hangs in the balance once again as the warriors unite for a final showdown in Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Kingdoms, a brand new feature film produced by Warner Bros. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Kingdoms resumes shortly after the final explosive of Mortal Kombat Legends: Revenge of the Scorpion, the 2020 blockbuster that kicked off these animated films, based on one of the most popular video game franchises in history. In Battle of the Kingdoms, our team of heroes is besieged by Shao Kahn's enemy forces, forcing Raiden and his group of warriors to make a pact to compete in an ultimate Mortal Kombat that will determine the fate of the kingdoms. Now our heroes must travel to the Outworld to defend Earthrealm and, at the same time, Scorpion must find the ancient Kamidogu before it is used to resurrect the One Being, which would mean the certain destruction of all things in the universe. Time is running out and the stakes are high in this action-packed continuation of Mortal Kombat's journey.

Joel McHale (Community, Stargirl) to Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter, Batman: Gotham from Gaslight) return to their lead roles as Johnny Cage, Hollywood star turned fighter and all-business warrior Sonya Blade, respectively.
