The French Cartoon 360 festival, switches to the virtual event

The European animation org CARTOON 360 due to the difficulties and complications caused by the pandemic, had to cancel its plans for live meetings for the festival Cartoon 360. Originally scheduled for November 17-19 in Lille, France, the transmedia event will now take place in full digital mode. Furthermore, the deadline for submitting projects has been extended to 30 September.

The digital version of Cartoon 360

As usual, the digital version of Cartoon 360 will provide a file electronic catalog to the participants with all the information on the participating partners, experts and young talents, as well as a detailed list of contacts. The novelty of this edition will be a mobile app containing all the information on the selected projects and a single one digital platform where the event will be streamed live: virtual attendees from around the world can log in to watch keynote presentations and addresses, hear expert feedback and interact with each other.

Cartoon 360 commercials are open to European producers, who wish to develop an animated property in a cross-media brand, for multiple platforms (TV, mobile devices, books, games, etc.). Selected projects will be proposed to - and will receive valuable advice from - professional transmedia specialists from all over Europe.

Expert advice

Attendees can also gain insights into best practices in content creation and launch strategy, audience engagement, marketing, budgeting, business planning, and more from expert interviews, during the two and a half day event. This year's speaker lineup includes representatives from Aardman Animations, BBC Children, DHX Media, Ketnet, Planeta Junior, Rainbow and others.
