BAST Studio presents the "Animation Jam Honduras" event

The animation studio BAST based in Tegucigalpa, is trying to give a creative boost to the Honduran animation communities, in a very busy year due to the inauguration of the Animation Jam Honduras. The virtual event will offer local artists, who work with all animation techniques, the chance to showcase their talents and win great prizes.

“In Honduras we are preparing to build an animation industry. We will officially launch our online animation school, between December and January, laying the foundations for our Honduran animation industry, ”said Alexandra Jimenez, CEO and Project Manager of BAST Studio, and founder and CCO Osman Barralaga.

The Animation Jam will take place from 11th December at 19pm. CST as of December 00 at 13pm CST. Here is the breakdown:

  • December 10 - Deadline for pre-registration of participants.
  • 11 December at 19:00 - Revelation of the theme / topic and start of the animation Jam.
  • December 13th at 18:30 pm - Countdown of the last 30 minutes and closing of the competition in streaming on Facebook Live.
  • December 14-16 - The judges review the projects.
  • December 17th - The judges select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
  • December 18th at 19pm - Winners announced on Facebook Live.

The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals over the age of 18, based in Honduras.

“Even though our event right now is only for people based in Honduras, we would like the whole animation community to be informed, as it is a small step locally, we believe it will have some impact on the worldwide ”, added the BAST principals.

Further details on the Jam will be revealed on Facebook Live this Friday December 4th at 19pm. CST, with international judges already confirmed: Mexican-American director Ana Lydia Monaco; co-founder and co-director of The Animation Centrifuge, Fraser MacLean (Scotland); and artist / photographer Anubis Vrussh (Panama).
