Hosted by Escape Studios, The VFX Festival (the special effects festival) returns in 2021 and will celebrate the theme of “unlimited creativity” in the fields of special visual effects, animation, games and motion graphics.

The virtual festival will start in March and will feature insights into award-winning productions, inspiring expert-led presentations, career advice, as well as the latest trends, technology and innovation from around the world.

The 2021 Festival will see the presence of speakers from some of the main world studios: BlueBolt, Bluezoo, Framestore, Jellyfish Pictures, MPC, NVIZ, Rodeo FX, The Focus and many others.

Each year, the festival brings together a leading creative community, enabling emerging talent to explore the best of the creative industries and offers opportunities for professionals to expand their knowledge. There are three interesting areas for this year's festival:

  • The VFX Festival EDU | For college and university students who are excited to learn about the world of visual effects, animation, games and motion graphics. This part of the festival is free and will feature talks and presentations with industry professionals, helping to inspire the new generation of creative artists.
  • The emerging talent of the Visual Effects Festival | For students currently studying in higher or higher education and for young professionals looking to start a career. The festival will be filled with inspiring lectures, panel discussions, short presentations, careers and recruiting opportunities. The “Marketplace”, which runs alongside The VFX Festival Emerging Talent, will offer a great opportunity for attendees to meet studios and learn about their work, as well as open or upcoming job offers.
  • The virtual series of the VFX festival | A series of monthly events focusing on award-winning projects, trends, technology, development and innovation from around the world. This part of the festival consists of lectures, presentations and workshops for anyone wishing to increase their knowledge of VFX, animation, games and motion graphics.

“We are thrilled to bring back the virtual series of the Visual Effects Festival for 2021 and look forward to sharing it with our international community on the subject of 'creativity without limits',” said Dr. Ian Palmer, director of Escape Studios. . “Over the past year our industry has become more creative than ever. We had to work in constantly changing circumstances and innovate to carry out innovative projects. I am thrilled to hear how the studios have adapted to work in this new era of creativity in visual effects, animation, gaming and motion graphics across our VFX festival calendar.
