Locke the Superman - The 1984 anime film

Locke the Superman (超人 ロ ッ ク, Chōjin Rokku) is a manga series created by Yuki Hijiri, which was later adapted into an anime film and three OVA versions. The film received an obscure US video release from Celebrity Home Entertainment such as Locke the Superpower, which was edited quite heavily at 92 minutes, removing the violence, nudity and any adult parts. Both it and the OVAs were later licensed and released by Central Park Media under the original name. Ten volumes have been published in Poland under the title Locke Superczłowiek.

As of 2012, Discotek licensed the original 1984 movie Locke the Superman and was released on November 6. This is the first ever DVD release in the US It was from the uncut, remastered and anamorphic telekinetic print used for the Japanese release of the DVD. Discotek provided both Japanese audio with English subtitles and the original 80s English dub, which was previously released on VHS.

In November 2020, the 1984 original Locke the Superman movie was released on Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks.

History

The Chronicles of the Space Age written through the activity of a certain immortal psionicist.

Characters

Chojin Locke

A quiet, charismatic, lonely immortal esper of whom little is known. He is called "Locke the Superman", but often denies being one. It is not known where or when he was born, and if asked, Locke will say that he does not remember; it is entirely possible that this is true. When asked by Cornelia Prim in Millennium of the Witch which star she came from, she replied "Toa". However, that was just the name of the planet he had lived on prior to that encounter.
It has appeared at various points in the history of the galaxy, as a direct influence, an indirect influence or a simple observer. Using his esper skills, Locke can learn and do most things faster than a normal human. His power also allows him to remain eternally young, or even transform himself back into a child to be adopted by kindhearted families. This is called waka-gaeri; it could be said of what keeps him young at heart. It is speculated that it retains a youthful appearance as an excuse for not taking responsibility for whatever cause is approached, since no one expects young people to accept such responsibilities.
Locke is able to teleport over a wide range of distances, including light years; telekinesis; psychogenesis, the rapid healing of oneself and others; short and long range telepathy; and create barriers and "spears" of energy (perhaps a "flavor" of telekinesis).

Liza / Eliza
A form that Locke can transform into. She is a skillful woman, but she is only mentioned in a few stories. Locke once used this identity to become a pop star.
