'Rick and Morty' and 'Dark Crystal - The Resistance' earned Creative Arts Emmys

On Saturday, the Television Academy hosted the finale of the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies, honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievements on FXX television. The ceremony awarded many talented artists and craftsmen, in an eclectic mix of categories of all genres. Hosted by Nicole Byer, the final gala saw the participation of presenters of some of the most famous shows of the season, including Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian), Lamorne Morris (woke), Leslie Odom Jr. (Central Park) and Wanda Sykes (Crank Yankers).

Joining the distinguished VFX animation and special effects talents announced on Friday,  Rick and Morty Adult Swim Animated Series, was awarded the Outstanding Animation Program, for an animated series that earned prime time broadcasting. This is the second win for this category, for Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland's sci-fi humor adventure series, following the triumph of “Pickle Rick” in 2018.

in the category Outstanding Children's Program, Dark Crystal - The resistance (The Dark CrystalAge of Resistance) by Jim Henson, Netflix's puppet prequel, celebrated a victory alongside the original HBO documentary We Are the Dream: The Kids of Oakland MLK Oratorical Fest. The series, set in the extraordinary fantasy world of the iconic 80s Hensons film, was also honored by the Visual Effects Society and received nominations from, among others, the PGA and WGA Awards.

At the end of the four nights of celebration, The Mandalorian e Watchmen tops the list of multiple winners with seven wins each; Primal by Genndy Tartakovsky it was the only animated program to make the list, with three wins.
