VIEW Conference 2020 online presents Cartoon Saloon's Nora Twome

For his first online session Meet the Masters (meeting with the masters), VIEW Conference 2020 will present the Oscar nominee Nora Twomey, partner and creative director of Cartoon Saloon, in conversation with the award-winning animated film director K, whose latest film is this year's The Willoughbys for Netflix.

Twomey directed Parvana's Tales - The Breadwinner , co-directed The Secret of Kells (Kells' Secret) and was head of history for Song of the Sea (Song of the sea), which have received Oscar nominations for Best Animated Film and many international awards. He produced the most recent Cartoon Saloon film wolfwalkers for Apple and is directing a new animated production titled My Father's Dragon (My father's dragon) for Netflix.

Pearn previously directed Raining Meatballs 2, and has been a storyboard artist on many animated films, including Home, Hotel Transylvania e Raining meat balls, all for Sony Pictures Animation.

Nora Twomey co-founded Cartoon Saloon in Kilkenny, Ireland with Tomm Moore, Paul Young and Ross Murray in 1999. She directed and animated her first short film there in 2002, went on to direct several award-winning shorts and now has 11 titles of short films and animated films as animator, director, head of story, producer and / or voice actor. In addition, he led the development processes of the television series Puffin Rock and is co-creator of new series Dorg Van Dango. In addition to the Oscar nomination for Parvana's Tales - The Breadwinner, the film received the Audience and Jury Awards in Annecy and was nominated for a Cristal, as is The secret of Kells, which also received the Audience Award in Annecy. In 2018, the VIEW Conference honored Twomey with its Visionary Award.

Kris Pearn is a director, executive producer, writer, storyboard artist and actor. He was nominated for a BAFTA Children's Award for Directing the Animated Film Raining Meatballs 2 and received two Annie Award nominations for film storyboarding Arthur Christmas e Boog & Elliot on the hunt for friends (Open Season). He was also a storyboard artist for Shaun the Sheep Movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story e Surf's Up among other films.
